2020 has undoubtedly been a bad year in many aspects. However, it’s a good year for homeowners looking to sell their homes. Taylor Milton Homes’ mission is to assist homeowners in both marketing and selling their homes on their own to capitalize on their real estate investment, so, we have provided a few examples from the U.S. News & World Report as well as the National Association of Realtors as to why selling your home in 2020 is a benefit to you.
Low Interest Rates
With interest rates hitting a 50 year low this year, lenders now can underwrite loans and process them in a timely fashion according to Patrick Boyaggi, the CEO and co-founder of a mortgage technology company headquartered in Boston. This allows buyers to purchase homes at a faster rate, allowing you to reduce the burden of trying to market and sell your home. Additionally, Freddie Mac’s report released in July, shows a 3.07% interest rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, potentially saving buyers tens of thousands of dollars over the lifespan of the loan while also allowing more individuals to afford and purchase a home.
Homebuyer Demand
Homebuyer demand is also increasing tremendously after people have been quarantined for the past few months along with their newfound ability to work remotely from anywhere, they please. Matthew Gardner, an economist at Windermere Real Estate, states that demand is strongest in suburbs and smaller, cheaper cities as sellers are looking to flee from the larger, metropolitan areas. With the ability to work remotely continuing to grow and, if it lasts, people are being presented with the opportunity to move to more affordable areas.
Home Price Increase
Along with this, home prices have been appreciating since demand is high and inventory is low, giving you a perfect opportunity to capitalize on these current market conditions. According to the National Association of Realtors, single-family home prices, in most markets, increased by 7.7% to $274,600 in the first quarter of 2020, and asking price growth is higher now than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Since interest rates are at an all-time low, home buyer demand is increasing, and single-family home prices are increasing, this is the perfect storm for a homeowner, such as yourself, to take on the task of marketing and selling your own home without the use of an agent.
Assisting the Community
The real estate market is thriving, even in the COVID-19 environment. However, many people have lost their jobs and may not be able to forbear their mortgages through the term of their unemployment. Additionally, some homes don’t have sufficient equity to allow sellers to hire a realtor (real estate agent). So, we at TMH wanted to do something to help.
Taylor Milton Homes has a new product for homeowners who are serious about selling their homes and are looking to save money on marketing. Taylor Milton Homes is offering an opportunity for sellers to focus on selling their home without the headache of trying to market it yourself.
“COVID-19 has affected countless Long Beach individuals and our team wants to help those
